Had a busy weekend redoing 4 abstracts, and painting a 5th from scratch. Took my mind off of what is going on in this world, which is a good thing. The last 3 paintings are on 8x8 gallery canvases, and were originally in shades of blue from the Jodi Ohl abstract class. I was never really thrilled with them, so they had been stacked on a desk waiting for inspiration. I added white, yellow, pink teal and shading grey with some fresh black lines. I think I am calling them done, but one never knows, does one?
The 11x16 at the top was also a do over from my friend, Melissa. She redecorated her home office and this painting had a bunch of magenta and reds in it. Clashed with the new walls, so I added compliments to the purple color of her walls, and more black. I wasn't thrilled with it, but when she put it on the white shelf in that room, she loves it. And that's what counts.
Last was the newby. I used a wood 12x12 panel and a painting of Jodi Ohl's as inspiration. When this returns to home, I think this will be the base of a new painting. That's okay, I learned a lot in this process on continuing to add and subtract paint.
Gracie asked if I would post a better shot of her new beauty mark. She is the diva. Vote. Linda
