Relax

I haven't been taking any photos of late, and this has to stop. First of all, I miss it. And secondly, I am digging back into my file folders for something to post. Not really a problem, but I want something NEW. Yeah, it's my own fault, I know. All of the above shots are from Folly Beach, South Carolina. Except the rose, which was at one of the plantations we visited.

We have been working hard to complete Halloween crafts to sell in our booth. The days just seem to fly by, and I have not been able to just sit and relax. Today I am changing the pattern. Yes, it is good to work hard, but that little creative edge can easily be lost if you don't just breathe.

The dogs and I are heading for our morning walk. Always helps to put life in perspective. Enjoy yourselves.

Things that make me smile

Isn't it always the way that when you have some "free time", no obligations to be somewhere, that is when you get sick? The exercise facility that employs me as an instructor is closed for cleaning this week. I had plans to work on crafts, meet friends, do whatever struck me.

And here I sit, running a fever, nursing a very sore throat. I sat down at the computer this morning, and thought "I need something to lift my spirits", so I opened the folder of pictures from Asheville and Charleston.

Hope you enjoy them.

Pick a house, any house

Can you imagine a house that size? They were all beautiful, all well maintained. After leaving Asheville, NC in early May of 2011, we drove to Charleston, staying at Folly Beach.

When we travel, we like to do short tours, like the historic tour of downtown Charleston, or a ghost walk at night. I am not one to sign on for a busload of people that stay together. To get the local history and flavor, to me, the tour guide should be local. And Pat and I like to roam around and take photographs. You can't always do that in a group. Wait. Let me restate that. I assume you can't always do that because I've never done the group thing.

We also like to shop. Always. You have to go home with something.....

Our winter weather has been incredibly mild so far, and I am now getting the itch to go on vacation. Have to think about this. Thanks for stopping by.

I want....

From a private garden in the historic district, Charleston SC

One of the famous homes in Charleston

Folly Beach, SC early morning
I want a lot of things, but today I want some ocean breezes or downright winds coming in my back door. After the winter months we endured here in central Indiana, I don't really want to complain about the heat and humidity. Because, truth be told, I prefer the heat to the cold, snow, and ice.

I look at the photos I took in the Carolinas and I long to go back. But then logic sets in: hmmmm, June in Charleston, SC. How hot is that? Blazing, I'm sure. So we'll just stay here, walking early in the morning to avoid the heat, and lower the blinds to block the sun from the windows.

But wouldn't it be nice?
