Finishing up this larger format Dylusions journal has been a challenge, but now I'm on a roll. The first spread with blue: I drew the girl with Prima Colerase pencils, then painted with acrylic paint. Added finishing touches with the same pencils and Arteza brush pens. The foliage started with Dina Wakley stamps, then some stenciling. The quote is from a Dina stamp set.
Second spread: I used Pavement and Elephant Grey from Apple Barrel paints as a base. I wanted some of the dark to show through for effect. Then drew the girl with a white pencil and just started adding. There was a point that I considered ripping out the page, but forced myself to keep going. I am so glad Gulfsprite suggested using old supplies you never touch, and combining them, because this is teaching me some new techniques. Love that. To me, it's all about the process. Went through my folders of magazine cut outs and chose the flower pot for the colors, then just started having fun. Some stenciling in black to finish it all off.
Jake and Gracie. This is an older photo that Meranda took at Puppy Playground. While she was petting Jake, Grace came up to wash his face. It's what sisters do, you know. Vote. Linda
EDIT: the title of this blog post is from a song by George Harrison, one of my favorites, after he left the Beatles.
