Riley the granddog. He likes attention and knows that Grandma Linda is a dog mom. Lots of paw massages. |
We had our family Christmas yesterday in Crown Point, IN. which is about 200 miles north of where I live. The forecast was not good. My original intention was to drive home today, but today was suppose to be the sleet/ice accumulation day, so I came home last night. Driving was blissful for the first 120 miles, and then all hell broke loose. Blinding snow, inability to see the pavement or the edge of the road on I74, and people are basically idiots. There was a line of about 5 or 6 cars driving in the right lane at 25mph. We were passed, once by a semi. Normally if traffic is light I can make it home in just over 3 hours. Last night took almost 5. It was worse once I exited the interstate and had to come south on a county blacktop.
Today is clean the house, shovel the backyard deck because SOMEONE with paws doesn't like snow in her pads (MOM! It's wet!), and working on art. I ain't going nowhere today. More snow this afternoon, possible an additional 4 inches and we have 6 on the ground. And the forecast of ice is still there.
Have I said before I hate winter? I do believe I have. I hate winter. There. Sue me.
Linda
