I am forcing myself to draw something other than a girl's face every other time I pick up a pencil. Doesn't matter if it is funky looking guy (will take a pic of that today in daylight), or a bird, bunny, elephant, whatever. The only way I can personally become stronger in my drawing skills is to expand the subject pool.
Side note: the body of the elephant was painted with Daniel Smith's watercolor in Shadow Violet. I LOVE this color, and am using it quite a bit. Originally I purchased it for shading in a lighter tone. This is the first time I decided it suited a main area, and I think it's perfect. I ordered a neutral grey in watercolor, but it hasn't arrived.
The bunny with greenery came about the other day when I was freezing every time the dogs wanted out. High of 23 or something ridiculous. I hate winter. The first heavy snow is pretty and festive, I get that. After that, give me 70 degrees and sunshine.
Stay Warm. Linda
