Added the strip cut off to the inside tab. Can't have a naked tab, can we? |

Using a large tag and paper clip to hold it closed and label each folder |

Another old gel plate print |

This is the back with paint and collage |

The more you add, the stronger the file folder will be |

Art journal page. Graphite drawing, acrylic paint, Arteza pens for shading |

Inspired by Jodi Ohl on Instagram. Acrylic and Arteza pens |
I don't have that many pages complete, but the ones I do have contain details that took longer than normal. Gulfsprite did a spread during a livestream with "tiles" created behind the 3 girls she had drawn. I am seriously trying to branch out with my drawing because I feel this is what I need. So decided to do a vase of flowers, and add the tile work around it. Used a small square punched from cardboard, and a circle template. I drew in pencil, then erased lines that I didn't want as I progressed. Very meditative, relaxing at night while the tv is on in the background.
Jill Faust, who is on Instagram and YouTube, and Gulfsprite also will draw girls in graphite and leave it, painting portions of the background. I had watched one of Jill's older YouTube videos, and decided to try it with this girl. I like it. This method makes you concentrate on the drawing instead of color to enhance the face. I used a mechanical pencil with .05 lead, and a blending stump. Will do this again with flowers. The geometric shape around the girl is again a punch from cardboard that I used to trace the design.
Busy week, but this is relaxing me again, so I hope to get back to the art journal daily. Enjoy yourselves. Linda
