Absolutely Abstracts

While the paper was still taped to the board, I took a pic and converted it to black and white to check values

Tape removed, finished warm up

Random Jake on my lap while the snow was falling Monday

second set of warm ups on paper

we added colors to the palette

Random Gracie last night after an extensive massage. I gave her a massage, not vice versa
I have been busy but not in the art journal. Hope to return to that today, but with the shorter days I am not getting as much painting done as I would like. I hate painting when there is no daylight. I do have good lighting in the studio room, just would rather paint by the light that streams in from that north window.

I started the new Jodi Ohl class entitled Absolutely Abstracts. This is all online. Jodi is a wonderful teacher, and it took me a few hours to get through all of the prep videos. If you skip those, you really are missing a lot of valuable information. Jodi did say that she hopes this class is the first of many on her process with abstracts. I hope so. I am purposefully going slow because I don't want the class to end. So there are 3 more warm ups on the table now that I will complete today. Just playing with values and contrast and layering, layering, layering. Having fun.

It is bitter cold in the Midwest. We had 3 inches of snow on Monday. Too early for this, so here is a wish that one of the winter months will be above average in temperatures. And then she laughed and laughed.....
