Dina Wakley has been doing daily demos on Facebook since the start of the pandemic. This week they dropped to twice a week, but you can catch up by going to her blog at
dinawakley.com. The above is a paid class creating this one spread in an art journal with moveable parts. This was a lot of fun, and a great way to spend a rainy day inside the house with dogs that whine for attention. I may get them their own art journals.
I have a ton of Dina multi media products, including her original large journal with 3 or 4 different types of paper. We also used plain white cardstock, which I had, and tissue. I stamped the girl's face on some Tim Holtz blank tissue, adhered it with Liquitex Mat Medium. The black and white circles with lines are from a stamp set by Seth Apter. The circles with smaller circles within are a Dina stamp that is rectangle in shape. I cut the wonky circles out by hand.
The two paper abstracts had been sitting on the desk for about a week. This was part of the Sketchbook Revival free stuff that is now gone. We started with random lines, blocks of black, then making marks in cool colors, let that dry, then warm colors. And then it sat because I was stuck. Tuesday I picked both pieces up and just started to brayer paint on. Also added gesso, and finally some spots of alcohol ink. Calling these done.
More rain today and tomorrow, so I'm thinking play with the gel plate. Yep.
Linda
