Happy Halloween

Gracie is not a small Aussie. She weighs 46 pounds

This is one large Aussie male

Photos are from Puppy Playground, and I don't know the male Aussie's name. He is younger, and full of himself, as most Australian Shepherds are. I believe he figured out how to open one of the doors and let the dogs out, into another area of the building.

Dogs enrich our lives beyond belief. That is a fact. Devotion to the human, affection, just being with us when we are feeling down. But they also come with their own sets of quirks. Gracie has become very vocal as she has aged. Carries on conversations until I either respond, or give her a treat, or open the door to the backyard. At this minute, she is laying at that door, hearing the pouring rain outside, yet whining because she wants me to get up, go there, open the door so she can stick her nose out, and decide nope, not going. Give me a treat because HEY! We're here, right?

Oliver, Cathy's Shih Tzu rescue that is blind, will randomly walk around the house bumping into walls and furniture, then find a particular spot that he likes, and stand and bark. Loudly. He doesn't want out, he just barks. Amos and Otis so far are ignoring this behavior. It is as if they understand this new brother is blind and that is a handicap, so let's all cut him some slack.

Another interesting note: Cathy puts boy diaper packs on all 3 dogs when she leaves, or it truly turns into a pissing contest. When she returns (and we're talking running to the grocery store, or going out to eat type of excursion, nothing long), Amos and Otis still have on their boy pants. Oliver's are off and hidden in the house. The other day she got down on her hands and knees and oh, look! 3 pair of those diaper boy pants were under her bed. So the blind dog can navigate stairs with ease and remove his pants, then drag them under a bed.

Life with dogs. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Jake was there first. Gracie basically sat on him, and this is how they stayed.
