Oh, look! More rain...

I have bought another class. I know you find that hard to believe, but it's true. Dina's new Abstract class, which I can't remember the proper name but I think it's Fascination with Abstracts. Not sure. So moving on.....

I applied gesso to a bunch of art journal pages. Dina is working on loose watercolor paper, but I wanted to use my journals to, well, practice and journal. The first photo above is in the Dina larger black journal, on the heavy watercolor paper. This is a standard composition in the cruciform shape. I enjoyed that one a bunch, and am pleased with how it turned out. One of the exercises Dina had us do was make large, random marks with paint on gessoed paper. We then go back and use the marks as a basis to develop an abstract. The second photo is one of those, and it was not easy. I am calling it done, but just not thrilled with it. However in one of the last lessons in this class we will revisit what we have done, and see if we wish to change or add anything. This will probably change.

Need to do a few more this afternoon. Keeps me out of the kitchen. Just saying....
Linda
