It's Winter! Let's make stuff!!

I joined Wanderlust 2021 because, ya know, it was on sale

This is the first spread in a very old Donna Downey journal

Patreon lesson from Gulfsprite

I am on a quest to get better, much more, on 3/4 faces

I think I have found a good balance between doing grungy type mixed media art, and watercolors. Wanderlust will probably be mostly mixed media art all year long, and that is fine. But then I can always pop back over to Patreon and do faces in watercolor, acrylic or gouache with Gulfsprite. Because I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO!!! Ready for the vaccine, folks. And I know it will be months before it's safe to venture forth, but I am so going to venture.

Gulfsprite has now given us 3 recent lessons on 3/4 faces. Being right handed, I tend to face my girls to the left, except they are wonky. So I tried one facing to the right and she was more in proportion. Still will do at least 3 a week. That is a goal I have set for myself. Next up: profiles!! I used watercolors on the girls, with Pavement acrylic paint for the background and white stenciling.

The girl in the middle is on watercolor paper with an acrylic ink background. When dry, I drew the girl and painted her with watercolors. Interesting effect on top of the ink. I will try that again. Stay safe. Linda
