Life Happened. SORRY!!!

This is Brook, my hair dresser's bulldog pup. She is around 9 months old, and was the runt of the litter. Sweetest dog, so soft. She had to come to work with mom on Friday. We bonded. Of course we did.

The above art work is from the 30 Days class with Gulfsprite. Christy had us do a Gulfsprite bunny, and it was a fun page. First you slap down random acrylic paint in 4 colors, let that dry. Then use white paint to draw out a bunny shape. I mixed white with purple to fill in the background to the left, white with a light blue for the right. I wanted some of the underpainting to show through, so left it somewhat transparent.

Next up, Embrace Your Weird. We sketched out a girl with a long neck, then painted with gouache. I am still learning this medium, and had a very bad time with the eyes. This brand of gouache is touchy, in that if you try to blend or overwork it, the bottom layer lifts and makes mud. I am not giving up. Will try again, but last night I wanted another girl. So the 2nd is in cheap acrylic paints. I took a shot of the WIP, so you could see the hair had an under layer of blue. Both in the gouache girl and the acrylic girl. I like the depth that gives you, and that is a Christy trick.

Behind on the lessons. There are two on Gulfsprite birds that I want to do, but I was gone this weekend. Life got in the way of my art. How dare it???? Enjoy your day.
Linda
