More

This piece is from the Danielle Donaldson class on Artist Network entitled Color Mingling. If you want to learn the basics of how to paint layers in water color, I highly recommend this class.

The paper is Strathmore brown cover, 140lb weight. I drew the design with a .03 lead mechanical pencil, and used Daniel Smith water colors for paint.  Unlike acrylics, once I start a watercolor project, I want to complete it in that session. Personally, I hesitate less than with other mediums. Perhaps because the watercolors dry so fast and you can move on to the next layer.

Planning on another project today. Thanks for stopping by.
