Lake Crescent

When we stopped at the Park Ranger's station for instructions, the very nice Ranger asked how many days we were spending in the area. She then recommended two trips. The first was up to Hurricane Ridge, the second drive was west out of Port Angeles to Lake Crescent. It was later in the day when we arrived at the lake, and a chance of rain always exists.

This lake was carved out of the mountains by a glacier and has a natural dam. The water is clear and at it's center, the lake is 600 feet deep. Within the Lake Crescent portion of the park there are hiking trails and a waterfall. I wasn't up to the 1 1/2 mile hike to the falls, so we stayed close to the car. Just stunning views.
