There are many times when I am drawing and painting a face that the shading is "off". The face lacks dimension, appears too flat. I grabbed the above pin from Gulfsprite's board of Artist Resources. It is now also on my board under Drawing, if you want to pin it. I have printed it out and will keep it handy for when I am painting. One of the best references I've seen.
The bird journal page has Distress Oxide inks as a base, then Tim Holtz tissue. I added some drawings to the tissue images, then drew the bird. The lyrics are from Sir Paul McCartney. If you didn't already know that, you are on the wrong blog......
