HuhW

Why yes, there is a story

Random Jake

The page with the story.....I had applied left over yellow paint to a blank page, then sketched a girl, in ink pen. The girl was horrid. Beyond butt ugly. I then journaled about how I was having a bad day, in ink, and decided the entire mess needed to be covered, so I applied a darker yellow acrylic paint. Yeah, no, that magnified the ink and honestly made it easier to see. What the hell? Went through the folder of cut up magazine pages, and found the images you now see. Added some blue paint around the edges, then used that as inspiration for the page opposite with the flower. That page had left over black Dylusions spray to the right, so I just worked around that.

The double spread girl started with collage pieces applied with Mat Medium. I have gone back to using this exclusively in this journal, because the heavier Gel Medium stays sticky when dry. Acrylic paint was used for her hair and the background over the collage, not watered down. Some paints are not all that opaque. The orange is Apple Barrel, the green DecoArt. I used Daniel Smith watercolors on her face and top.

Trying to do at least 2 pages a day, because it keeps me sane. I really don't care how disjointed the pages turn out, because it is a reflection of living in this country at this point in time.
