TGIF!

Tried an older face for the first time. Now I want to do more

Her nose is so off. I mean, seriously?
I need to stop painting when I am in the zone, and step back from the faces so I can see what is wrong and fix it before it's too late. Good Grief, what the hell was I thinking with that nose? It's all a learning process, right?

The older woman was done from a photograph provided by Christy Sobolewski in the 30 days class. I didn't do what Christy wanted us to do....yet. Instead, I painted it more realistically. Just wanted to see if I could convey age with water colors. I think I did.

The nose girl is a combination of acrylic and watercolor. The face is water colors, the hair, background and some marks around the eyes are acrylics.

I am trying to do a minimum of 2 journal pages a day to get into the habit of painting instead of napping, eating, or watching television. Reading is allowed. Yesterday's lesson is a figurative abstract, and it's partially completed. I am on a roll. Enjoy your weekend.
