One of the sketches from Friday. Face is watercolor, charcoal is acrylic

Mixed the yellow on the top with the charcoal and got that beautiful olive green

Added white to the yellow and pink to create shades

Stenciling in white,, shading with Tom Bow markers

Added brown acrylic paint to the hair and eyes

Abstract with the left over paint on my palette and a charcoal pencil

Jake has to touch me in some manner when we sit outside
Watercolor on the he/she, acrylic and watercolor in the background
One of the points that is emphasized by various artists in the online classes is to limit your paint palette, and mix colors. For example, I chose charcoal, pink and yellow for the first journal page, with white as an accent and mixing color. By doing this the project will have more cohesiveness.  The foreign weird cat woman is colorful, but was achieved with just 3 base colors.

I didn't limit myself on the face above, but did repeat colors. The magenta in the hat band is also in the lips. The yellow and gold in the eyes is also on the body for highlights. Neutral Tint, a Daniel Smith watercolor, is all over this piece. Because it is subdued and blends so well, I use it a lot.

I have found that if I keep pushing myself to create pages, I can cope with what is going on in this country. Not forget it, because the anxiety is growing. Is this our new normal? To be in a constant state of worry? I hope there is hope.  I know, for me at least, art is better than drugs.
