Today's tag is boring, now that I look at it again |

In a Dylusions Journal |
I should have added more lines to today's tag. But it is what it is, and time to move on. There is a reason for this. I listened to Julie Fei Fen Balzer's podcast with Dina Wakley, from ITunes. You can download these to your IPod for free. Dina said that she makes a ton of crap art. She creates constantly, on papers, in journals, on tags, on canvases. And the majority of it is bad. Bad art is kept as collage fodder, or she paints over it. The point is you can't get to the good stuff until you create bad. THE WORK HAS TO BE DONE!
Then I rewatched the YouTube video from SewCrazi on journal flips. She turns the pages of her journals, only 3 dang it, and talks about what she used, why she likes it or doesn't like it. Again, I noticed that some pages were just smaller drawings. No paint. Or a little paint added, but letting the graphite or charcoal show. It was a moment for me.
The past two nights I have sat on the bed, dogs along side of me, the tv is on, and I draw. I pick one drawing pencil for the main part, adding accents with a softer, darker lead. And the blending stump is in my left hand, always ready. Yesterday I added some NeoColor II's for color. These are the high end crayons that are water soluble. The backgrounds in magenta are Marabu acrylic spray thru a Stencil Girl stencil, let to dry.
I am so digging this.
