Today is the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States.
Is this about political party affiliation?
No, it is not.
THIS is about decency, empathy for your fellow citizen. Understanding that not everyone was born with a multi million dollar trust fund.
This is about the people who work and pay taxes.
The people who are retired and hope that their savings and pensions do not disappear.
The senior citizens who rely on Social Security, and no, assholes, it is not an entitlement program. We paid into it our entire working lives. Some of us still do.
I recently read that doctor visits and requests for medications for anxiety and stress have increased dramatically in the past few weeks. Truth.
Actions speak louder than words. Truth.
PAY ATTENTION! Know what your elected officials are doing, from the town, township and county levels to the state and federal governments. Yeah, some of it is boring.
But some of it will scare the living shit out of you.
Let those officials know how you feel.
Be vocal.
Know your facts.
Stop spreading rumors.
And vote.
