I don't know Jake's actual birthdate. The vet and I are guessing, so we decided to count his adoption date as his birthday. It was 8 years ago today I brought him home, but we think he was born in July of 2010 based on his size and weight.
Jake is a mama's boy. With me he is sweet, loving, kind, and completely loyal. Anyone he views as a threat to his mom is warned with a lot of barking. He scares grown men, although he has never tried to bite anyone. IF a man or woman tried to contain me, or hit me, they would have to contend with Jake. In a way that's good, but it also makes my heart heavy because I never want either of my dogs to be hurt or abused in anyway. A few weeks ago I think someone tried to come into the house via the front door. The storm door is unlocked in case I need to enter, but the big door was locked and the alarm on. When the dogs heard the storm door open, they both ran to the door and started barking. By the time I got there from the back of the house, the person or people were gone. The dogs looked at me, and waited for a command. They both got a kiss.
Happy Mother's Day, regardless if it is human children or fur babies.
Linda
