Art journaling on water color paper

Large tag

Mixed media canvas
I have been working in the studio room every day. It may only be for 15 minutes, but at least it is actively doing something to keep the creative juices flowing.

I went back and looked through the photos I took of Dina Wakley's teaching journals. One of the aspects that appealed to me was the repetition of an image in threes. So decided to give that a try and liked it. I am more prone to fill the white space. Not always a good thing, but some Tim Holtz postal tissue went down under the tags. The other thing I have started is to throw bits and pieces that are left over into a pile in the corner of my desk. The rectangle piece with numbers is water color paper I cut that had an antique dictionary page adhered. I then put a very light coat of gesso over that, cut the numbers from the postal tissue, and adhered that. Just like the oddity of that little piece.

The oversized tag has the same antique dictionary paper. The girls are Dina stamps, as well as the hearts. The little saying comes from a set of Donna Downey stamps.

Canvas is 6x12, and started to be so, so many things. This was like pulling teeth. I changed that background three times, then decided it was going to be whatever it was going to be. The french words tissue is from 7 Gypsies, and the strange shaped die cuts are from the Sizzix collection of Seth Apter. So very cool. If you want to purchase those, the best price I found was on Amazon. That isn't always true, but in this case they were quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks for stopping by.
Linda
