We had a long, cold winter with a fair amount of snow. I lost several perennials in the front flower beds. Not surprising, after the severe drought last summer. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the Foxglove come back. I love the color and shape of these plants, but they are not particularly hardy and will die out by mid-July. Yet every spring they return.
